TRENDING FASHION SINCE 1876

THE BRAND

The history of Italian fashion is a chronological record of the events and people that impacted and evolved Italian fashion into what it is today. From the Middle Ages, Italian fashion has been popular internationally, with cities in Italy producing textiles like velvet, silk, and wool. During the Middle Ages and Renaissance, Italian fashion for both men and women was extravagant and expensive, but the fashion industry declined during the industrialization of Italy.

Many modern Italian fashion brands were founded in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and in the 1950s and 1960s, Italian fashion regained popularity worldwide. While many of our clients  are celebrities, we also focus on ready-to-wear clothes.

OUR SERVICE

Textile is What We Do

“Elevate your style to new heights with a suit tailored to perfection. At SIMONE, we take the art of suiting to a whole new level. Each of our custom suits is a masterpiece, meticulously crafted to reflect your individuality, embody your confidence, and make a statement that is uniquely yours.”

Fibre Dyeing

The dyeing process is the interaction between the dyeing and the fibre, as well as the movement of dye into the internal part of the fibre. The dyeing process involves absorption (transfer of dyes from aqueous solution onto the fibre surface) and diffusion (dyes diffused into the fibre)

Spinning

Wool fibre spinning is a twisted technique to form yarn from the wool fibre. The fibre intended is drawn out into a bobbin that is spun into yarn. Simone Federico & Figli with its expansive infrastructure of over two lac spindles ensures round the clock spinning which is then taken to the next stage of conversion into yarn.

Design & Development

Fabric design and development is an intricate process involving the creation, refinement, and enhancement of textile materials. It encompasses a diverse array of stages, from initial conceptualization to final production. Designers often start by ideating patterns, motifs, and textures, drawing inspiration from various sources such as nature, culture, or contemporary art.

Weaving

Weaving is a process whereby woven fabrics are formed on a loom by the interlacing of warp yarns which are set lengthways on the machine, and a weft yarn is inserted usually at right angles of a warp. Simone Federico & Figli with more than 500 high tech looms ensured fabric production of more than 54 million meters annually.

Finishing

Woven finishing may be divided into two steps. The first removes impurities, cleans or modifies the fabric (desizing, scouring, bleaching & mercerising) And the second step involves resin treatment , water or flame proofing depending upon the need and a few special finishes.

Quality Control

We verify that fabrics adhere to set criteria for durability, appearance, and performance. By maintaining stringent quality control measures, we can guarantee consistency and reliability in our fabrics, meeting the expectations and demands of consumers in diverse sectors.

Grading & Packing

At Simone Federico & Figli a comprehensive grading is done on all fabrics produced from Grade A to Grade F. Grade A is the least expensive and Grade F is the most expensive. Waterproof paper & Polythene film packing is then done using cardboard pieces, wooden or bamboo slats. Wooden case with steel strips is used for final stage delivery wherever is required.

Garmenting

Garmenting requires skilled labour, precise machinery, and attention to detail to ensure that the final clothing meets design specifications, fits well, and maintains high quality standards. This stage bridges the gap between fabric production and the creation of wearable, market-ready apparel for consumers.

Learn more about the exquisite world of worsted fabrics. An opportunity to understand the intricate steps involved in the manufacture of worsted fabrics and the quality procedures being followed globally!

Worsted fabrics are primarily crafted from long-staple fibers, with wool being the most common choice. The wool comes from sheep, often merino, and is prized for its durability, smooth texture, and ability to retain its shape. Additionally, worsted fabrics may incorporate luxurious fibers like cashmere for added softness, mohair for a silk-like sheen, or silk itself for a touch of opulence. Synthetic fibers such as polyester or nylon may also be blended to enhance durability and cost-effectiveness.

The manufacturing process of worsted fabric involves several intricate steps, and the time it takes can vary based on multiple factors including the scale of production, machinery efficiency, and specific requirements of the fabric. Typically, the process of creating worsted fabric starts with the selection of high-quality long-staple wool fibers. These fibers undergo cleaning, carding, and combing to align the fibers and remove any impurities, resulting in a smooth, fine yarn.

Woolen blends encompass a variety of fabric options, each offering unique characteristics and applications. Common blends include wool and polyester, combining the natural warmth of wool with the durability and wrinkle resistance of polyester—ideal for suiting. Wool and cashmere blends introduce luxurious softness and a premium touch, often used in winter garments. Wool blended with nylon enhances strength and resilience, making it suitable for outerwear. Additionally, wool blends with silk or cotton provide diverse textures and finishes, catering to different climates and preferences.

Various types of worsted fabrics cater to diverse style preferences and applications. Classic worsted wool, derived from sheep, is renowned for its smooth finish and durability, making it ideal for suiting. Tropical worsted, a lighter version, offers breathability suitable for warmer climates. Worsted flannel introduces a softer touch, while worsted gabardine boasts a distinctive diagonal twill weave, popular for its resilience. Worsted mohair blends infuse a silk-like sheen, adding a luxurious element.

The price range of worsted fabrics varies significantly based on factors such as the quality of the fibers used, the brand, and the specific type of worsted fabric. Generally, high-quality worsted wool fabrics, often sourced from premium sheep breeds like merino, can fall in the higher price range due to their superior texture, durability, and luxurious feel. Luxury blends incorporating fibers like cashmere or silk can also contribute to elevated costs. However, more affordable options exist, particularly with blends that include synthetic fibers for cost-effectiveness.

Worsted fabric is meticulously crafted through a multi-step process. It begins with the selection of long-staple fibers, typically wool from sheep like merino. After cleaning and carding to align the fibers, they undergo combing to remove short strands, leaving only the longer, high-quality fibers. These chosen fibers are then spun into a fine, smooth yarn. During the spinning process, the fibers are carefully parallelized to create a tightly woven structure, characteristic of worsted fabrics. The resulting yarn is woven or knitted into fabric, and additional processes such as scouring, dyeing, and finishing contribute to its final texture and appearance.
